Brief
Introduction of Yang Fuquan

Fuquan was born in N ingj in County, Shandong Province in 1943. He graduated from
Beijing Industrial 'Art School 1962. He had engaged in advanced studies at the
Central Industrial Art College. Now he is the member of Industrial Art Society
of China, the research fellow of the International Calligraphy and Painting Art
Research Institute of China, the member of Beijing calligraphy and Painting Art
Research Institute, the
member of Beijing "Dragon and Tiger" Calligraphers
and Painters Society, the great industrial arts master of Beijing Bright Star
Industrial Art Factory, director of China Oriental Culture Developing Center.
Mr. Yang was cunim-ed the title "Chinese Folk Industrial Artist " by
UNESCO in 1995. His 'aine was taken in the Name Book of Famous Chinese  Industrial
Artists and the Chinese Volume of Celebrities in World Cultural Circles. In 2002
he was appointed deputy of sectory-general of the Organizing Committee of the
1@ International Children's Art Exhibiton. Mr. Yang had engaged in lacquer painting
& mounting and design. His works were exhibited at some large-scale arts exhibitions.
The works
were ordered in large batches from home and foreign areas. During
the 40 year's design work, he has studied traditional Chinese painting &
calli@ 'aphy and held the personal art exhibition for many times . Parts of the
works were already collected by personages of various circles of USA, japan and
Southeast Asia, also reported on some TV stations and plihiished on some newspaper
and magazines .One of his representative works , the portrait of premier Zhou
was collected by memorial hall of  Chaairman
Mao .Beijing Television Station ,also painted specially for some famous figures,
such as Hua Guofeng (former Chairman of People's Republic of China), Zhao Puchu
,Zhang Xueliang .Moreover , all kinds of portraits of Flying Apsaras and Zhong
Kui (a deity supposed to be a chaser of demons ) have been collected by famous
persons of home and overseas . Among of them , the portrait of Zhong Kui have
been collected by nearly 60 old generals."the theme of my paintings are mainly
from historical and traditional subject matter ," he say , "I have traveled
all over the country in order to collect source material .My production include
sketch and reproduction through consulting and decorating , such as Flying Apsayas
, Guanyin (Buddhism ,the Goddess of Mercy) , Zhong Kui and some historic figures
induding Guan Yu ,Qu Yuan and Yue Fei . During mycreaion, I have been trying hard
to carry forward the good traditions and embody the spirit of our age by using
the rich and strong colours .At the same time I try hard to study extensively
and weed through the old to bring forth the new." "Knowledge is infinite,"
he says , "My artistic level is limit, so it's needed for me to study continually
and improve myself. I'd like to heed the opinions of personages of various circles
